Matthias received his M.Sc. and PhD in Civil Engineering from Vienna University of Technology (Austria). He has worked with engineering consultancies in Vienna, Frankfurt, and Hamburg, before joining wh-p as Director of the Berlin office (Germany). Matthias gained experience in structural design of a wide range of buildings, including commercial, educational, and entertainment facilities as well as rail and road infrastructure. Additionally, he is member of Austrian and International Standardization Committees (e.g., RILEM). Currently, he is responsible for the structural design of the Elbtower in Hamburg, which – at 250 m – will be Germany’s third-tallest building.
