About
Marci Clark is an architectural historian and managing director at JDS Development
Group, where a team of innovators and builders are pioneering progressive new
forms of large-scale urban development that challenge the status quo of the real
estate industry.
Clark received her PhD in architectural history from The Graduate Center at The
City University of New York and her MA in Art History and Archaeology from
Columbia University in the City of New York. Her research considers the
interconnected work of planners, architects, and developers in North America in the
twentieth century. Clark’s current book project is Negotiating Big: The Empire of I. M.
Pei and William Zeckendorf, based on her doctoral dissertation.
At JDS Development Group, Clark oversees strategy and development across all
projects. With her unique background, she provides guidance to development and
design teams, particularly in the adaptive reuse of historical structures, including
New York City landmarks. Dedicated to educational outreach, Clark oversees
partnerships with academic institutions and the documenting and communications
of construction and design. She’s been commended for her academic and
professional achievements and profiled in The New York Times.
