Since joining Sumitomo Realty in 1984, Mr Nishima has been mostly involved in the development and operation of the company’s office building projects.
He has laid the foundation for growth of the company’s office building asset from what used to be 20 towers to the current 230 towers (total 5,000,000 sqm floor area), which is No.1 in Tokyo.
He attaches particular importance in usability for the users, and the structure of the buildings which needs to adapt to the earthquake prone situation in Japan.
He continues to maintain his hands-on approach for planning of the buildings even after becoming President.
