Karl is a structural engineering Project Executive and Principal at IMEG in the Chicago area. He leads projects around the country with experience in a variety of materials including steel, cast-in-place concrete, post-tensioned concrete, masonry, wood, cold-formed framing, and precast concrete. He is well versed in structural loading and resilient structural design and serves on the ASCE 7 Subcommittee on Snow and Rain Loads. His design experience covers multiple market sectors including housing, office, health care, retail, educational, gaming, municipal, and commercial. He has designed multiple high-rise projects with heights up to 1,100 ft. He has a BS in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University (1997) and an MS in Civil Engineering with a structural focus from the University of Texas at Austin (1999). He holds SE and PE licenses from multiple states and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
