Karl Fender is a founding director of Fender Katsalidis, a Melbourne based architectural practice which is active throughout Australia and internationally.

As design director, he has been involved in major urban projects in Australia such as the Docklands precinct in Melbourne, the NewActon mixed-use building in Canberra which was the recipient of the 2015 Canberra Architectural Medallion, Eureka Tower and most recently Australia108, two of the tallest buildings in Australia. Currently under construction, Merdeka PNB118 in Kuala Lumpur is set to become the fifth tallest building globally on completion.
