Karen is a British trained architect with experience in all project sectors, phases of work and processes.

Adept in the management of complex architectural projects and team structures, Karen’s key strength is her strategic approach to the front-end design stages of projects. Karen works closely with clients and stakeholders to find solutions and assist in the feasibility and purchase of potential sites and then guides the design process to achieve favorable statutory approvals.

With experience in the UK, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam and Australia, Karen brings an international perspective to Bates Smart and has the cultural understanding and communication skills to fluidly navigate a diverse and evolving market.
