Having worked in London, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam and Australia, Karen has strong experience in a variety of residential, hospitality, sport, education and commercial projects. Karen’s Chinese and British background provides her with the communication skills, cultural understanding and high quality design training to work successfully in international markets.
Karen studied architecture in London and worked there with David Morley Architects, Aukett Fitzroy Robinson, and Sheppard Robson Partnerships on a broad range of projects from inception to completion. In 2012, Karen joined Bates Smart Melbourne from Foster and Partners Hong Kong where she was responsible for Suning Tower, Nanjing and VietinBank, Hanoi. Karen has been a guest critic at Bartlett School of Architecture, University of Nottingham and has also been a design studio tutor at University of Melbourne.
