Born in Lisbon in 1972, grew up in Macao (P.R. China), until 1989, and graduated in architecture in 1995, in the Technical University of Lisbon. In 2001 became a master in construction, in IST, after an investigation on tall building construction, publish in Portuguese language in 2004 by “Livros Horizonte” called “Tall buildings, form, structures and technologies”.
In 1999 founded the firm José Romano Arquitectos Lda, acting as designer and consultant on different kinds of projects like theatres, office buildings, restaurants and housing.
In 2003 worked in the Shanghai Institute of Architectural Design in Research Co, in P.R. China, as a member of a design team developing housing in tall buildings.
