As Executive Managing Director of Operations for the Asset Services Division of CBRE, Jim Bilger ensures global operational excellence and consistency. Overseeing a team of over 65 business operations individuals, Jim is directly responsible for the division’s operations as they relate to Global Standards, Learning and Development, Standards and Foundations, Environments for Excellence and New Hire training.
Jim introduced the Asset Service’s cultural customer service program – The CBRE Standards of Excellence – in 1999 and has maintained the education and support of the program since then.
In 2011, Jim embarked on the globalization of the business operations platform for the Asset Services division throughout the world, helping bring the company to a world-class service level in each of the markets within the US, EMEA, APAC and LATAM. He serves on the Asset Services Global Executive Committee that leads the global integration for all programs, platforms and services provided by the Asset Services division.
In 2012, Jim was appointed the Global Consulting Group’s lead for Shanghai Tower, the world’s second tallest building upon completion of 620,000 square meters (6.2 million square feet), which will open in 2015 and employ over 400 employees. Shanghai Tower will also be known as the tallest sustainable building in the world by achieving both LEED Gold certification and a China Green Building Three Star rating.
He participates in the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat annual conference.
In 2014, Jim was appointed to co-lead the CBRE Premiere Property platform which is CBRE’s premiere property management services business for iconic buildings around the world.
Jim came to CBRE in 1991 with a background in property management, including experience with Class "A" high-rise buildings, industrial parks and retail properties. As a Senior Director with CBRE, Jim oversaw a Los Angeles portfolio of more than 10 million square feet. Subsequently he focused on Operations as the Asset Services Director of Operations for the Western Division and a portion of the Central Division.
