Hongtao Bo is the winner of Young Architect Award of The Architectural Society of China, Shanghai's Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Architect Award and RIBA China Architect 100. He serves as a director of The Architectural Society of China, a member of the Professional Practice Committee of Architects Regional Council Asia, an executive member of the Building Reconstruction and Urban Renewal Committee of The Architectural Society of China, a member of Architectural Culture Committee, a member of Three-dimensional City and Composite Architecture Committee, a director of the Architectural Society of Shanghai, and a member of Architectural Creation Academic Department of the Architectural Society of Shanghai. He also serves as an off-campus master tutor at Southeast University, Chongqing University and Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. Hongtao Bo has been fruitful engaged in the field of urban renewal, and completed the renewal of the North District of Shougang Park, the most iconic case of industrial heritage renewal in China. He has successively completed important designs of Beijing West 10th Winter Olympic Plaza, Winter Training Center of State Sports General Administration, Beijing Starbucks Winter Olympic Park Store, Beijing Shougang No.3 Blast Furnace Museum and World First Center, Beijing Liugonghui, Big Air Shougang (cooperation of Tsinghua Institute, Ge Architecture and Shougang Institute), Jin'anqiao Science Fiction Plaza, and Shougang No.1 Blast Furnace So Real metaverse Paradise. He has also made positive contributions to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and the overall industrial upgrading and regional revival of Shijingshan District in Beijing. In addition, during the projects of Guangzhou Poly Guanggang Park, Chongqing Yuelai Crops Fertilizer Plant Art Settlement, and Qingdao Sifang Locomotive Works, he continued to pay attention to the topic of "socialization transformation and renewal of traditional secondary industry and related industries”. During the projects of historic block renewal and urban micro-renewal, he completed the designs of Wuxi Chong'an Life Plaza and Xiaolou Lane Historic Block, Shanghai Yuyuan Garden Phase III (cooperation between Foster and East China Institute), and Shanghai Yuyuan Road Celebrity Wall City Micro Museum. Hongtao Bo is gradually constructing a set of renewal system that connects macro and micro, and opens up space and content, in order to achieve the goal of "preserving historical memory, stimulating urban vitality, revitalizing silent assets and reshaping the value of places", and helping and empowering the growth and succession of cities. Hongtao Bo has published more than 30 papers in Journal of Architecture and other professional journals, and made keynote speeches at a large number of important academic conferences at home and abroad. He has published monographs "Strategies and Paths of Industrial Heritage Renewal in the Stock Age" and "Renewal Engine-Sustainable Practice of Renewal of Shougang No.3 Blast Furnace", expounding his research thinking and practical insights in the field of stock development.
