RJC Engineers participates at a national level with numerous code groups responsible for developing changes regarding wood, including those leading the way in allowing for taller wood buildings. Grant is the Chairman of Technical Development within RJC and supports the firm nationwide as an expert in wood and mass timber design.
Grant is currently working with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia and Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (AIBC/EGBC) on the Encapsulated Mass Timber Construction Guide to supplement the 2018 British Columbia Building Code (BCBC) Amendment allowing for 12-storey wood structures, as well as with the National Research Council (NRC) on development of a 12-storey CLT shear wall system.
