George Leventis serves on the Board and Executive Committee of Langan, a 1,000+ consulting engineering firm and is Managing Principal of their New York office. Also, as Managing Director of Langan International, he spearheaded opening offices in the Middle East and London. Between 1998 and 2001, George served as Director General of the Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games, Athens 2004, overseeing all activities related to Olympic works and the environment, including the potential privatization of various Olympic venues.

George holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and a Master of Science Degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has over 30 years of land development engineering experience with waterfront, residential, commercial, and supertall buildings; and has also served as Technical Advisor to several large P3 concessions including the Rion-Antirion Link in Greece, the Chacao Channel Bridge in Chile, the evaluation of the privatization of the Athens Metro expansion, the Kastelli Airport in Crete and the recently completed 400km Olympia Odos Motorway in Greece.

Currently, George is Full Adjunct Professor at Columbia University, where he teaches a graduate course focused on deep foundations for supertall buildings. He is also Regional Director of ACEC, an ASCE Fellow, member of The Moles, member of the Board of Directors of the New York Building Congress, and member of the Advisory Board of Columbia University Civil Engineering department and of the Stevens Institute of Technology School of Business.

Mr. Leventis’ awards include the 2017 ACEC NY Engineering Excellence Diamond Award for 56 Leonard Street; the 2007 DFI Outstanding Project Award, the 2005 ACEC Engineering Excellence National Grand Award and ASCE Outstanding Civil Engineers Achievement OPAL Award for the Rion-Antirion Bridge in Greece; the 1995 ACEC Engineering Excellence National Honor and NJ Grand Awards for the New York Hospital expansion over the FDR Drive in Manhattan; and the 1993 ACEC Engineering Excellence National Honor and NJ Grand Awards for the Liberty Science Center. He has also been named an ENR 2017 Newsmaker for his work on the Greek Motorways.
