Gabriela Barrera joined CTBUH as the Events Coordinator in April 2022, a role which supports the planning, organizing, and execution of the Council’s global event programming.
Gabriela is passionate about delivering thoughtful, seamless, and singular events, and is excited to enter the non-profit sector. Prior to joining the Council, Gabriela cultivated nearly 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including working with Chicago’s award-winning One Off Hospitality Group. She most recently worked as the Private Events Manager at Thompson Chicago, where she was responsible for day-to-day department operations and led the successful execution of all social and corporate events. Gabriela is also an ardent supporter of intersectional environmentalism and sustainability, and enjoys practicing these tenets with her partner and daughter.
