Received his master’s degree in civil engineering in 2003 from Addis Ababa University, Ewnetu began his work as structural engineer in one of the leading private design firms. He has engaged in the design of office buildings, hotels, commercial centers, resorts, factories and also served as lecturer at the Addis Ababa University. Moreover, he has developed software products in the fields of CAD automation to streamline the structural design process.

During the last decade, Ewnetu Ferede is senior structural engineer at the African Union Commission, representing the African Union on various projects all over the world.
