Eran Chen has earned a reputation for delivering mold-breaking designs that will deliver a better urban future. His work has been widely published around the world and recognized by the American Institute of Architects and the Society of American Registered Architects. Since starting his firm in 2007, Chen has grown the practice from small- scale housing to large- scale urban projects, with more than 836,000 square meters of built work and more than 10,000 units of housing under his belt. His focus is on placemaking and the expansion of the public realm to improve lives in our cities. The firm is currently designing award-winning projects in 15 countries. Chen is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, as well as New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate. He graduated with honors from the Bezalel School of Art and Design in Jerusalem, where he serves on the board. He is also on the board of the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. Recent projects include the renovation of the former Postkantoor in Rotterdam, a 3 million square-foot (28-hectare) master plan in Queens, and a 1,200 -foot (366-meter) tower in Time Square. His writings on architecture have been published in ODA’s books, Unboxing New York, and ODA: Office of Design and Architecture.
