Donald McNeill is a Professor of Urban and Cultural Geography at Western Sydney University, whose research focuses on how the production of the built environment shapes national territories. He currently holds an Australian Research Council grant on volumetric urbanism, exploring the various ways in which tall buildings intersect with ground planes, surfaces, and the subterranean, how this is measured in various ways, and how public and private interests are negotiated in large developments. He has published several papers on tall buildings, and his most recent book is Global Cities and Urban Theory (Sage, 2016).
