Gottfried serves as Chief Global Impact Officer for Blue Planet Systems. The firm makes Synthetic Limestone [CaCO3] aggregate by a circular process including directly sequestering and then mineralizing CO2 from power plants and other CO2 sources. The potential is for gigatonnes of CO2 permanently stored annually into carbon negative concrete. A first demonstration plant is running in Pittsburgh, California and others are being planned globally. Gottfried is helping Blue Planet accelerate commercialization of the company’s carbon negative concrete for the built environment. He is also responsible for directing the company’s sustainability and ESG programs.
