Mr. Jha is the founding President of PSM International Corporation, a Chicago based real estate development and management Company. As President and CEO, he has directed all facets of development including financing, design, construction, leasing and property management activities. One of PSM’s major developments in Chicago is Onterie Center, a 60-story mixed-use building, located in Streeterville.
Prior to 1977, Mr. Jha was a Vice-President at Tishman Realty & Construction Co. where he played a key role in the successful completion of many nationally acclaimed large projects including the John Hancock Center in Chicago. Mr. Jha has served as Board Member of many institutions and organizations including the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (McPier) for McCormick Place and Navy Pier in Chicago; the Capital Development Board of the State of Illinois; and the Board of International House, the University of Chicago.
Mr. Jha has served as a member of the Steering Committee of the Council on Tall Buildings & Urban Habitat for many years and has been a member of the Council since early 1970. As the Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Fazlur Rahman Khan Chair, Mr. Jha helped raise necessary funds to establish the Khan Chair at Lehigh University, Pennsylvania; and launched a successful funding campaign through the Mies van der Rohe Society to honor Fazlur R. Khan, a Founder Director of the Council, by naming the Master’s studio for him at Illinois Institute of Technology’s College of Architecture. He served as Chairman of the Committee of 100 Distinguished International Alumni at Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago and received Distinguished Leadership Award.
In his earlier professional career, Mr. Jha authored numerous technical papers on Construction Management topics, presented papers and served as Panel Member at many Professional Associations meetings in the US and Europe.. He co-authored a book titled Construction Management, Principles and Practices, published by John Wiley & Sons, in 1977. For his earlier accomplishments and a leadership role, he was cited in the ""Engineering News Records"".
Mr. Jha has been involved in many charitable and civic organizations. He served for many years as a Board Member of the Newhouse Architecture Foundation, now an affiliate of the Chicago Architecture Foundation. The Foundation provided a means for the Chicago Public High School students with a potential in architecture design, to realize and develop untapped talent. Mr. Jha was the founding President (1972-76) of the India League of America, which later was transformed into ILA Foundation. Since 1981 it has funded activities and projects of many organizations including Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. and Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago; that promote better understanding between the Asian Indian and the American communities at large.
He is a Fellow Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and belongs to many other organizations. He holds degrees: B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from India; M.S. in Structural Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago; and M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago.
