Balázs Bognár, AIA, is an American architect and Partner at Kengo Kuma & Associates. He has been working with Kengo Kuma since 2007, leading teams for projects in North America and elsewhere, with current construction in Dallas, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Sydney. Widespread locations provide the opportunity to explore the intersections of environment, aesthetics, peoples — and their varied relationships to nature via architectural strategy.
Notable completed work includes Alberni by Kengo Kuma in Vancouver, Canada (2023), Amanpuri, Retail Pavilion in Phuket, Thailand (2019), Rolex in Dallas, Texas (2018), Portland Japanese Garden Cultural Village in Oregon (2017); and Red Bull Music Academy in Tokyo, Japan (2014).
He received his Master of Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, and his B.A. in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis.
