Dr. Baiping Dong is a research professor in the College of Civil Engineering at Tongji University, He received his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from Lehigh University (2016). His expertise in Structural and Earthquake Engineering contributes to the research and practice in the development of the nation’s modern resilient and sustainable built environment. He has been the PI, Co-PI, and primary investigator of multiple collaborative research projects in China and the US. He is the recipient of the prestigious Leading Young Investigator award in 2021 from Shanghai Education Commission. As the leading author, he has published more than 20 papers in top-tier journals. Dr. Dong worked as a Professional Engineer at LERA Consulting Structural Engineers (NYC headquarters, 2016-2019) in tall building design, forensic investigation, and peer review, He maintains professional involvement on projects involving hazard-resilient and sustainable design.
