Dr. Osman is a Principal at the Structures and Bridges Engineering Department at Dar Al-Handasah Consultants, Cairo office. He received his M.Sc. from Cairo University, Egypt in 1987 and his Ph.D. from the McMaster University, Ontario, Canada in 1991 and 1998, respectively. He has a strong background in structural design of low-rise and high-rise buildings. His experience and university research include analysis and design of concrete High-rise buildings, non-linear finite element analysis of concrete and steel structures subjected to earthquake loads, structural health monitoring of structures and the structural renovation of historical buildings. He has over 80 technical research papers published in the field of structural analysis and design.
