Artur Piekarczuk is a professor at the Building Research Institute, where he serves as the Head of the Department of Building Structures, Geotechnics, and Concrete. He is the author of several monographs, handbooks, and technical manuals, along with over a hundred scientific articles published in both national and international journals, including many indexed in the Master Journal List. He has actively participated in numerous scientific conferences in the field of civil engineering and transport.
As an academic, Professor Piekarczuk has supervised dozens of engineering and master's theses and reviewed various postdoctoral and doctoral dissertations, as well as scientific publications. He also supervises doctoral theses and postdoctoral scientific traineeships. He is a member of the Metal Structures Section of the Committee on Civil Engineering (KILiW) at the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN), and serves as the Vice-Chairman and Secretary of the Commission for Tall Buildings at KILiW PAN, as well as Poland's representative at the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).
Additionally, he is a member of the Technical Committees of the Polish Committee for Standardization and serves on the Scientific Council of the Building Research Institute. His areas of specialization include numerical modeling using the finite element method, graphical modeling, and vision measurement techniques such as 3D scanning.
