Anton Davies is a practising engineer in the field of wind engineering, environment and sustainable design. He joined RWDI in 1977 after completing his PhD studies in mechanical engineering at the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada.
The early part of his career was spent developing techniques that employed the use of wind tunnel simulation of the effects of wind on building structures and people. This evolved to include the study of air pollution associated with individual built forms such as hospitals and laboratories and grew to include these effects on entire cities and countries. It was a natural progression to extend this body of work into the realm of sustainable design, which often employs clean technology such as wind and solar power and solar effects on buildings and people.
