Amandus Samsøe Sattler lectures at national and international universities, among them the
International University IU in Berlin, the University of Applied Sciences Augsburg, the
Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture in Nancy,
and the Institute of Architectural Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne. He
is a member of the Advisory Board of Architecture and Urban Design of the city of
Friedrichshafen, and President of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). He also
serves on the Board of the Bundesstiftung Baukultur, the Editorial Board of md-Interior
magazine and the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for the Museum of Architecture at the
TUM Munich. In international workshops and lectures, he focuses on the future of urban
design, the interdependency of architecture and society, and the architect’s responsibility
with respect to aesthetics and sustainability. He also acts as adjudicator in architecture
competitions and peer review committees.

Amandus Samsøe Sattler’s art photography documents his passion for the mystery of the
mundane and is available to the public in art books and exhibitions.
