Ali joined the Canadian Wood Council (CWC) in 2018. Currently, he is managing the structural engineering team at the department of Codes and Standards. His work experience spans over 10 years between France and Canada. It covers the evaluation of existing structures and the design of new ones, with a focus on dynamic analysis and earthquake design. He also has an R&D experience on the dynamic behaviour of tall buildings gained during his Ph.D. program. Although Ali’s current expertise is mainly in timber structures, he had been exposed to concrete and steel structures prior to joining the CWC and the structures worked on range from houses and small commercial buildings to nuclear plants.
