About

Alf graduated as an architect from Curtin University in Perth Western Australia in 1985 and worked for two years in his native Austria with the earliest founders of the Grazer Schule, Eilfried Huth and Ernst Giselbrecht. He then spent 10 years with Foster and Partners in London and Tokyo. Alf joined Woods Bagot in Perth in 2000 and became a Principal in 2007. He has been based in Dubai as the regional Design Director since 2003.

Alf’s interests lie in the early conceptual stages of projects of any scale where the clients vision is transformed into progressive socially and commercially responsive design solutions. Alf has worked on designs for furniture, houses, master plans, airports and towers.

Some notable towers to which Alf has lent his hand include Century Tower in Tokyo with Foster and Partners, and more recently The Nakheel Harbour and Tower, Burj Residences, Prime Tower, and Index…

CTBUH / Nakheel Asia Tour Report

CTBUH collaborated with the Dubai-based developer Nakheel and architects Woods Bagot to facilitate a 5-nation tour of seminal tall buildings in south-east Asia.
