Akikuni Arai joined Mori Building Co., Ltd. in 1988, and, initially under the tutelage of late Chairman Minoru Mori, has worked for more than 35 years to realize urban redevelopment projects based on the concept of a Vertical Garden City. At Mori Building, where projects are not only designed by the company, but actually owned by it, he has been closely involved in the planning and design of numerous projects, including the Shanghai World Financial Center, Toranomon Hills Station Tower, and Azabudai Hills. He currently oversees the Design Department and Energy Business Management Office as an Executive Managing Officer of the company.
