Zhuhai Civil Service Centre, a New Civic Landmark in Southern China is Completed
The Zhuhai Civil Service Centre, in the Xinxiangzhou District, establishing a dynamic hub that integrates government services with community engagement, has been completed. Situated near key civic facilities such as a public library and museums, the center connects public amenities with urban green spaces, offering tranquil views of nearby mountains and parks.
The complex designed by 10 Design, part of Egis’ Architecture Line, features a 73-meter emergency control tower and four civil service office buildings linked by a public deck. These buildings house over 80 government departments, providing a one-stop location for taxation, social security, property transactions, and more. Designed to foster interaction, the project incorporates open public spaces, creating a central gathering point for the district.
The façade, inspired by the wings of Zhuhai’s iconic seagull, symbolizes local pride while promoting a welcoming atmosphere. A louvered canopy provides shade and protection from rain, allowing natural light while supporting sustainability with photovoltaic panels that generate electricity.
“This project reimagines government buildings as vibrant, community-centered landmarks,” said Peby Pratama, Design Principal at 10 Design. The Zhuhai Civil Service Centre also sets a benchmark for sustainable and inclusive civic architecture, blending functionality with harmony in its urban and natural context.
