Work to Begin on Demolished Skyscraper Site in Tokyo
An existing building in Tokyo is being demolished and replaced with the Dogenzaka 2-chome South District Type 1 Urban Redevelopment Project. Work started on 1 February, 2023 and will go through 31 December, 2023.
Dogenzaka 2-chome South District Type 1 Urban Redevelopment Project is a redevelopment along Dogenzaka, consisting of two buildings, an office building and a hotel building.
Proposed to reach 155 meters in height, the scale of the hotel building is 11 floors above ground, with one story for the penthouse, and two stories in the basement. The owner of the building is Dogenzaka 2-chome South District Urban Redevelopment Association (participating union member: Mitsubishi Estate), and the designer is Mitsubishi Jisho Sekkei and Yamashita Sekkei Design Cooperative. Construction is scheduled to start in 2023 and be completed in 2026.
The first to third floors of the office building will be retail stores, the third to 30th floors will be office floors with over 1,500 square meters of rental space on each floor, and the hotel building will house TRUNK (HOTEL) DOGENZAKA, a hotel operated by Take and Give Needs (T&G).
