Wooden Tower Will be Added to Rouen’s Skyline
Soon a wooden tower will be visible in the skies of Rouen, France. In the summer of 2019, Eiffage Construction will file building permits for an eight-story, 12,340-square-meter building in the Rondeaux district of the city, along the west bank of the Seine river.
“It’s about creating a symbolic building for an eco-district,” said Patrick Failler, associate architect of the Artefact agency, who is the primary contractor for the project.
The building will include office space for Eiffage, a French construction and roads company, among others. Construction started in late January of 2019, and a development agreement with the Metropolis of Rouen refined the technical conditions, financial and environmental aspects of the program.
