Work is underway on the office building that will serve as the gateway for the CityLife district regeneration project in Milan.

Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group in 2109, The Portico will be a 53,500-square-meter development on the last two remaining plots of the CityLife area. Made up of two buildings, called East and West, the project will also feature a low-hanging 140-meter connecting roof structure.

The West building will have 22 floors, primarily taken up by office space, and will rise to 105 meters.   The East building will rise to 53 meters and 12 floors which will include an atrium with a winter garden and shared facilities.

Both buildings will be clad in photovoltaic panels and will collect rainwater for use on site.
