The height of one of downtown Vancouver’s upcoming towers has been slightly reduced, and the top of the tower sculpted.

601 Beach Crescent will still be taller than its neighbor, Vancouver House, but the tower height has been reduced to 163 meters, from 172 meters. Two floors have been lost, and the tower will now have 53 stories. The podium will be eight stories at its tallest portion.

The tower is designed as a gateway to downtown Vancouver, with the form inspired by a dancer, flowing dynamically from top to bottom. The architects are JYOM Architecture and GBL Architects.

The development, by Pinnacle International, will consist of 303 market condominiums, 152 social housing units, 2,721 square meters (29,288 square feet) of ground-floor commercial space, 453 parking spaces, and 911 bicycle spaces.

The development permit is before the Development Permit Board for approval.
