Twin Towers to Rise in London’s Isle of Dogs

Hong Kong developer Far East Consortium, has said London-based JRL Group has begun work on a twin-tower scheme on London’s Isle of Dogs.

Designed by Pilbrow & Partners, the practice of former PLP partner Fred Pilbrow, the Consort Place scheme, previously called Alpha Square, will involve two buildings of 35 and 65 stories.

The £470 million (US$603 million) development will include nearly 500 apartments, a four-star hotel and health center.

JRL is carrying out piling and basement works, with the entire scheme due to be finished by the end of 2023.

Far East Consortium is also behind the £30 million (US$38.5 million) revamp of the Art-Deco gem Hornsey Town Hall, in north London. The revamp of the Grade II-listed building in Crouch End is being carried out by Ardmore, under designs drawn up by Make.
