Tower in Brussels Renovated and Reopened
The former IBM Tower in Brussels' Northern Quarter re-opened on Wednesday under a new name, Victoria Tower. At 22 stories, the building first opened in 1978 to serve as the Belgian headquarters of IBM, which will now house the new headquarters as the WPP media group. It will offer 198 rooms, workspace, restaurants, and a rooftop bar. The opening of the tower is part of a wider redevelopment of the area, aiming to increase the area's modern feel.
The district will include more housing, connectivity and cultural activities. The refurbishment of the tower is being led by Brussels-based architectural firm 51N4E, and is drawing upon locally sourced building materials as renewable energy.
