The Brooklyn Tower, formerly known as 9 Dekalb, has structurally topped out. It stands at 324.9 meters (1,066 feet) and has 74 stories. The project has been under-construction since 2018 and cost US$750 million to develop.

The 115-year-old Dime Savings Bank was also bought by the developers to be restored and incorporated into the project. Designed by SHoP Architects, the building’s form and façade use hexagonal compositions and patterning that are inspired by the historic bank. The bronze, steel, and marble used in the new building are also inspired from the bank. The panels of glazing change in size and materiality so the façade starts as bronze colored at the lower levels, but then fades to black as the building ascends.

The project holds about 550 residences. Most are for lease, but 150 are available for purchase. Affordable housing will be designated to 30 percent of the rental units. Sales for the residences will begin early 2022 while unit leasing will begin in the middle of 2022. The project is set to complete by late 2022.
