Foundation permits have been filed for Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences in Miami. If approved, the project team is hoping that this building will be Miami’s first supertall skyscraper which would stand at 317.3 meters (1,041 feet). The project’s submission for Miami’s Urban Development Review Board (UDRB) was already approved in October. This submission revealed new project renders created by ArX Solutions.

The project is composed of nine stacked boxes, each one rotated at a different angle. The top cube is the most cantilevered box and is pushed towards the southeast corner of the building. The project will include a total of 461 residential units, 205 hotel rooms, and 123 square meters (1,321 square feet) of retail space. There will also be a variety of amenities for residents and guests.

The filed foundation permit specified site and soil improvements to the 4028-square-meter (43,791-squre-foot) site. However, it did not name private providers so it may take time before the permit is approved. Work on the site is expected to begin before the end of the year and the project is planned to complete in 2025.
