Soft Edged 41-Story Residential High-Rise is Approved in Newark

The construction of Summit Tower, a 41-story residential skyscraper at 200-208 Market Street in Newark, New Jersey was approved by the City of Newark Zoning Board. Designed by INOA Architecture and developed by KS Group, the 515-foot-tall  (157-meter-tall) building will feature 514 units, with 20 percent of these units reserved for affordable housing. There will also be 142 valet-operated parking spaces.

Located adjacent to Prudential Center, the project has also received approvals from the FAA and the Newark Landmark Historic Preservation Commission to move forward. The design includes staggered blocks of curving glass and finished concrete, topped with a slanted crown and landscaped terrace. Units will range from studios to two-bedrooms, with amenities such as a spa, swimming pool, fitness center, and multiple lounge and entertainment areas. Summit Tower is a short walk from Newark Penn Station, served by PATH, NJ Transit, and Amtrak trains.
