Skyscraper Badly Damaged by Hurricane in Lake Charles
A Video showed powerful winds battering a building in Lake Charles, Louisiana, early Thursday morning, 27 August 2020, as Hurricane Laura caused extensive damage to the area.
The storm weakened to a Category 3 strength hurricane just before 4 a.m., but not before pounding the area with winds up to 140 miles (225 kilometers) per hour.
In video captured by storm chaser Aaron Rigsby with Live Storms Media, the shrieking sound of glass falling could be heard as winds slammed into the skyscraper.
More than half-a-million people evacuated the area, although officials said about 150 planned to weather the storm.
