Mirvac has submitted a development application for a new 26-level residential building located at 57 Skyring Terrace, Newstead. The proposed building would accommodate 135 apartments and 825 square meters of ground floor retail.

Designed in-house, Sky Stage 2 is the second stage of Mirvac’s Sky Precinct at 57 Skyring Terrace in Newstead, which has been brought forward following faster than anticipated sales of stage one, Quay Waterfront Newstead, which is nearing sell-out following over US$112 million (AU$155 million) in sales. The apartments have been designed with variable balcony widths to create deep eaves for shelter, planting, and cross-ventilation.

A rooftop recreation deck is proposed which would include a pool, sunset bar, sky gardens, wellness spaces, along with a gym and business center on the second level. At the street-level the project provides improved linkages to the river, Gasworks, and surrounding green spaces.

With an eye towards subtropical design, in the public space there will be sculptural shade structures with greenery, screening elements and trees.

It is anticipated the new building will be released to market in mid-2022, pending approval from Brisbane City Council.

Mirvac has been developing its Waterfront Newstead community since 2001, including the completed Pier, Park and Unison buildings, and its latest stage, Quay, which is under construction and due for completion in early 2024.
