A significant redevelopment of the Clybourn Place shopping center in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago has been proposed.

This redevelopment aligns with the changing landscape of the Clybourn Corridor shopping district and surrounding residential areas. Their plans include up to 500 luxury apartments in a later phase, potentially featuring a building reaching 520 feet (158.4 meters) in height.

The proposed plan encompasses retail space, parking facilities, and pedestrian walkways, aiming to enhance the overall experience for residents and customers alike.

While the project is in its early stages and subject to change, the developer is moving forward with discussions and plans to seek approval from the city. The proposal includes a mix of new construction and preservation of historic structures on the site.

This redevelopment mirrors trends seen in urban centers across the country, aiming to revitalize shopping centers and accommodate residential needs in growing neighborhoods.

The ambitious vision for the Clybourn Place site follows the departure of several notable tenants, including Goose Island Beer, Patagonia, and Bed Bath & Beyond, marking a significant shift in the area's commercial landscape.
