Preliminary renderings from Stonehill & Taylor Architects offer a first look at a new hotel property in Manhattan’s Financial District. The development is located at 110-112 Liberty Street, just one block east of the World Trade Center Complex.

Eddie Hidary of Hidrock Properties acquired the site for approximately US$38.5 million in 2018 and demolished an existing five-story commercial building the following year.

The new structure will eventually top out at 28 stories and span 111,722 square feet (10,379 square meters). The hotel component will comprise 92,864 square feet (8,627 square meters) with 230 rooms. Permits submitted to the Department of Buildings do not specify any outdoor space or amenities that could be available to guests.

As previously reported, the forthcoming property is one of several new hotels under development in the Financial District, part of the neighborhood’s accelerating transition from a center of commerce into a live-work residential community.

At this time, the developer has not commented on a construction schedule nor anticipated date of completion for the new hotel.
