Real Estate Team Partners to Transform Helsinki Office into Modern Elderly and Disabled Care Facility
In Helsinki, Schroders Capital's real estate team has announced a significant lease agreement with Mehiläinen Group to convert an office building at Paciuksenkatu 27 into a modern residential facility for elderly and disabled residents. The refurbished property, set for completion by early 2026, will offer 80 rooms, with 63 dedicated to elderly residents under the Mainiokodit division and 17 for disabled occupants through Onnikodit. The facility will also include social spaces such as a multi-purpose room, rooftop terrace, and sauna.
Located in Meilahti near Helsinki’s city center, the property aims to provide a high-quality living experience while offering convenient access to city amenities and transport links. This partnership exemplifies Schroders Capital’s value-add strategy by enhancing strategically located assets to meet the growing demand for purpose-built facilities for the elderly and disabled. The project aligns with Schroders’ commitment to sustainable, socially responsible investing and long-term community impact.
