The application for 88 Merivale Street, dubbed the "Urban Forest" has been resubmitted with the Brisbane City Council, seeking approval for a 30-story building, three years after it was initially approved for 20-stories in 2021. Developersr Aria Property Group originally proposed a 34-floor high-rise that was scaled back to 20 levels. Now,  the design seeks from the Brisbane City Council, to approve a 30-story building with 321 apartments ranging from one to five bedrooms and a full rooftop amenity level.

Designed by architecture firm Koichi Takada Architects, the building features extensive greenery, with a proposed 827 trees and 27,000 plants, aiming to offer residents a lush, eco-friendly lifestyle. This emphasis on sustainability aligns with Brisbane's growth and its upcoming role as a host city for the 2032 Olympics. Aria development director Michael Hurley describes the project as a model for sustainable urban living, hoping to place Brisbane on the global stage alongside cities like Singapore.
