The topping off of The Laurel Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia was celebrated by architect Solomon Cordwell Buenz (SCB) and developer Southern Land Company on 28 September.

The 183-meter (599-foot) residential building will feature a modern, soaring glass façade that allows for sweeping skyline views to Rittenhouse Square, Center City, and the Schuylkill River. A stone-clad entry pavilion respects the historic context of the surrounding neighborhood.

The 48-story building will include 65 condominiums on the uppermost floors and 184 apartments. A robust amenity program includes a private resident’s club on the 26th floor.

The Laurel is one of several projects that SCB is working on with Southern Land Company, including 1620 Sansom St., which recently broke ground, and 416-438 Spring Garden St., which was recently approved.

Project completion is anticipated in 2022.
