The 20-story residences of Mandarin Oriental are set to open their doors within the last quarter of 2020.  The former Deutsche Bank building, which saw its plans to be turned into a five-star hotel fall by the wayside, is now being transformed into a super-luxury residential property.

The tower, belonging to the KKH Property fund, will combine private apartments with services by the luxury hotel chain, and offer 270-degree views over the Paseo de Gracia, the Eixample district, and the Gothic Quarter, leading to the Mediterranean.

The smallest units will measure 123 square meters while the largest will exceed 500 square meters, split between 423 square meters of housing and 120 square meters of terrace.

“We hope to create the most luxurious residential offer in the city.”

The contemporary design of the building is being led by Catalan studio OAB, with Carlos Ferrater as its architectural face. As for interior design, Muza Lab of London is taking lead.

Next to the tower, a semi-detached building is being constructed, with a restaurant on the fifth floor. Amenities on the sixth floor there will include a lounge with a wellness center, a gym, a garden area, and a swimming pool. This structure will connect to the central tower with an enclosed walkway.

The founder of KKH Capital Group, Josep-Maria Farré, has said: “We hope to create the most luxurious residential offer in the city, which will be complemented by the exceptional services of Mandarin Oriental.”

According to sources, this real estate development has already received more than 300 requests exclusively from the Middle East, and in April had already sold four units. It is estimated that each property has a value of EU€5 million (US$5.6 million).
