New Utrecht Office Building Opens Its Doors
Central Park, a new office building in the Netherlands, opened its doors in early October 2021. The project was originally proposed in 2017. Construction for it started in 2018 and completed July 2021. This project is located near the major transit hub, Utrecht Central.
The building is named after the courtyard garden on its eleventh floor. This garden is in a double-height space and features over 50 trees and shrubs, 1,500 plants, and a babbling stream. There is a wooden deck that winds through this park and seating is embedded into the greenery. This semipublic space includes workspaces, meeting centers, and cafés.
The project stands 90 meters (295 feet) tall and has a total of 23 floors. Each office floor contains about 1,300 square meters (14,000 square feet) of flexible office space. Overall, the project is targeting a BREEAM Excellent design certificate.
