A timber composite building reaching 10 stories has been proposed for Newstead, Brisbane, at 12 Kyabra Street. The project will mainly be used as an office building for small businesses, but there will be three residential dwellings atop the office space. There will also be hospitality tenancies on the ground level.

This project is designed by Cottee Parker. The lower three levels act as a platform for the office levels. Planned vegetation at these office levels create filtered street views for the tenants. The top portion of the building contains two three-bedroom units and one four-bedroom unit. These residential units are clearly defined by their gable roofs.

Screening elements, wall finishes, and vegetation will be used to visually scale down the building, so it relates to neighboring buildings. The project’s development application has already been submitted to the Brisbane council.
