New Proposal Plans a 507-Meter High-Rise for New York City
A 507- meter (1,663-foot) building has been proposed for New York City. Affirmation Tower’s design is composed of a series of stepped cantilevers. If its proposal gets approved, the project will cause 30,000 New Yorkers to be hired over six years, with 15,000 of those jobs being permanent.
The architect for the project is Adjaye Associates. This firm was founded by Sir David Adjaye, a Ghanaian-British architect. This project is designed to be a powerful economic engine for minorities and women as the development's team is committed to have 35 percent of in-contracts be to people of color.
The proposed project is planned for a 4,900-square-meter (1.2- acre) lot that is only a block away from Hudson Yards. The site will include the two hotels, and observation deck, and a skating rink. The building will also include commercial offices that will house the NAACP headquarters.
