New Antenna Installed Atop Willis Tower
ABC7 Chicago successfully installed a brand new antenna on the Willis Tower on a Sunday morning. The process was captured by Chopper 7. A helicopter lifted a 5,500-pound, 32-foot antenna to the top of the skyscraper, where a courageous crew awaited its installation. According to Broadcast Operations Manager Conlan Fay, the new antenna will enhance ABC7's broadcasting capabilities, allowing for a wider signal reach and improved quality. Before the antenna was lifted to the top of the tower, some members of the ABC7 Chicago team had the opportunity to sign it.
