Skidmore, Owings & Merrill have released renderings of their upcoming project in Nashville, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences complex. The project will consist of two towers on a shared podium. The larger tower is planned to be 46-stories tall which will contain a 242-key Ritz-Carlton Hotel and 165 luxury residences. The shorter tower will be 32-stories tall and will contain 185 rental units that have amenities such as a fitness center, pool, and outdoor dining.

This projects design will pay homage to local vernacular architecture, integrate biophilic elements, and harmonize with the surrounding environment. The wrap around terraces are inspired by the American, southern porch and will allow users to enjoy outdoor space and views of the river. In addition, the design utilizes stone and glass for the podium to create a seamless transition from the street level to the towers.

The development is 111,500 square meters (1.2 million square feet), and groundbreaking is anticipated to begin in early 2022. The architects are aiming for this project to be LEED Gold certified.
